Bird reference of terms

 

  • Diurnality: plant or animal behavior characterized by activity during the day and sleeping at night
  • Nocturnal:  plant or animal behavior characterized by activity during the night and sleeping at day
  • Crepuscular: plant or animal behavior characterized by activity primarily during twilight hours
  • Bird watching: performed by a hobbyist who studies birds
  • Ornithology: the science of studying birds
  • Ornithologist: a qualified person or scientist that studies avian sciences and ornithology
  • Clutch: a clutch of eggs refers to all the eggs produced by birds, amphibians
  • Bipedalism: a form of locomotion where an organism moves by means of its two rear limbs
  • Tomia: serrated birds teeth. Not really teeth at all as birds at some point during evolution stopped producing enamel which left some birds such as geese with a row of sharp serrations inside their beak.
